I really did not want to leave Kansas City so I procrastinated about it until 3pm before I got out on the road again.
I had received apologizes in advance for the boring the ride across Kasnas State so I was prepared for some pretty dull riding ahead. While the interstate 70 is long and straight these people have obviously have no idea how dull long distance road travel can be in Australia! I mean if I'd been on the road of Adelaide to Broken Hill todays entry would just be "Traveled 320 miles, saw some roadkill." To me the ride was long but pretty easy and if I'd departed KC before 3pm I'd probably have hauled all the way through to Denver without too much problem at all.
Now, if you ever make the ride/drive across Interstate 70 in Kansas State you'll get to a place about half way across where on the horizon you can see these unusually tall towers for which you'll think, "Great, aliens have finally landed and of all the representative places on Earth to land...." Then as you get closer you'll notice the towers are actually moving which will only confirm your suspicion, but then they are probably Triffids so keep your visor down or windows up. By the time you then realise what they really are (wind turbines) you'll notice there are 100's of them, literally 100's and 100's -- awesome sight in a way.
My GPS Snitch that provides all the location updates is on the blink right now and as best I can tell the problem appears to be that I'm in an out-of-service area for the outbound data-feed. I'll have to take a closer look at it once I get to Denver.
Again, if you're reading this via Facebook you'll actually need to visit my blog to see the photos:-
